We are suggesting to berth holder and boats on hardstand owners, to winter-ise their Boats now, as long term weather forecast is predicting very severe frosts this winter and frost is capable of causing major damage and in some cases sinking the boat, obviously not boats on hardstand but boats left afloat, which insurance companies are not now covering sinking caused by frost.

To All Our Berth Holders,
you may have noticed, ongoing improvements are being carried on all round the Marina. Jack & Dorothy have their new heavy duty socket installed, to stop people helping themselves to free power! (No names!) We have had the main E.S.B. supply re-wired, and modernized fuse boards installed. This work is not yet finished. Jetties, in order of priority, have been refurbished. Jetty lighting is to be improved soon.It won’thave escaped your notice that we have a new crane. It is rated @ 25 ton capacity. To this end, we are offering our berth holders only a special rate of €75 per lift if they avail of hard standing for the winter, to try & encourage you to lift out this winter, as the river is very unpredictable and getting more so every year. Shore power will be available on meters for this end.
The shower & laundry facilities up & running & the meter cards are available at €1.00 each. (From Robbie Byrne, or the Office) When the weather drops to freezing, the shower will be drained down till the freeze passes, but this will affect very few of you fair weather boaters!!
Our web site is open as is our facebook page, and all are welcome to participate in adding to them in any shape or form. Suggestions are also very welcome, as we can be blindsided into thinking we have a good idea, but other people may think different. Also some may think of ideas we have not thought of. Communication is essential, as we want the Marina a place where people want to come to, not just to pick up their boat, but to have the craic as well .
As we head toward the winter, work will continue. To this end, we would ask that everybody try to keep their mooring payments up to date, now that we have reduced this to 3 months up front instead of 1 year. This will give us funds to keep upgrading through the winter months.
Looking forward, we hope the improvements so far show how serious we are about improving the Marina for everybody,
Yours Sincerely,
Bryan Kenny
